It’s time for a new blog feature. And oh yeah, it’s dirty. And all the cool kids are doing it.
Oh, take MY clothes off??? Haha. Helllll Noooooooo. But I’m flattered, truly. This is a series stripping the “clothes” off and exposing my naked photos. No presets, no fixes, straight up before (SOOC) and after.
Here is a photo of my daughter on the swing. There is nothing wrong with the before, it’s a storytelling image, but it is cluttered. I am distracted by the houses in the neighborhood and it loses a little of the childhood innocence I was after, focusing on the motion, height, and the dirty bare feet.
The swing set stopped abruptly right after her in the frame which was not as visually pleasing. If I wasn’t planning on using this as a portfolio image I would not have cared, but I wanted this image to have extra oomphf. Now that I share the before and after you can easily tell I did a really quick cloning on the left side of her and extended the frame. But it now works. The line is stronger and carries through the image, the focus is more on the child than on the surrounding storyline.
I also ran my preset that gives it a slight matte finish and bumps the contrast.
Cheers!! Happy Friday!
